Hi all,

As many of us are living in the south Ottawa area ... I thought I would just to let you know this.
I did my first spin class at GoodLife Barrhaven yesterday ... and they only had SPD pedals system.
I came prepared (Miriam told me about the SPD) with my pedal tool and put my own pedals (Look Keo) on those machines.

BTW ;) I promised myself not to put a foot on a spinning machine before the snow stays on the ground ... but getting 2h rides in after work is not easy in the dark ;-)
One more race to go.

On a side note, one of you (sorry I can't remember) had made a request for basement reno to me ??
Could that person contact me ? We might be able to add it to our list of renos for the winter.

Thanks

Oli

PS
anybody going to the Rattle me Bone run this WE ???
anybody going to the Technosport Meet the WE after ??
I'll be in both event.

Hi Oli et al...

Just a couple of quick notes on this -- if anyone is in the Kanata
area, I an instructor of RPM classes at the co-ed Goodlife on
Hazeldean Road on Monday at 5:30pm, Wed 10:30am, Wed 5:30pm, and a 75
min class on Thurs at 6:30pm. Kathryn also teaches a Spinning class at
the Hazeldean location at 6:30pm on Monday. Sometimes I cover for
other instructors, so if I know you're all going to be going to the
Barrhaven location, I'll try to cover some classes there :)

If you're interested in coming to my classes in Kanata, I'd love to
see some of you there. Mostly because I'm so tired of everyone kicking
my ass in the pool, it'd be nice for me to be able to make you all
feel a bit of pain ;) Speaking of which, I'd better get back to the
pool. Have only made it to one session this year so far :(

Yes. The co-ed Goodlife in Barrhaven and the Queensview location both
have SPD only. All of the other studios have SPD/Look Classic hybrid
(no Keos).

Not in the cards for me or Kathryn, but good luck to any of you that do race! :)

Cheers!
Derek.

Hi all,

Back to the pedals subject ...

It is a much better idea to get some SPD cleats for your shoes for the winter, in case you don't have then ... rather then potentially damage the spin bike by changing the pedals before and after the class.
Also much easier for all.
In case of wrong adjustment ... it can look ugly if the pedal get loose ...
And I don't think GL likes that ;-)

Thanks to our official spin instructors in house Kathryn and Derek for the suggestion !
