Hey Steve,

Last Friday the water termpreature at O'Brien beach ws 68.8, the week before it was 70 degrees.  I suspect it will be a little warmer this week.

Ha! Also remember that there were many of us that did 500m WITH a wetsuit :)

Though I suppose that was more for protection from the stuff in the
water than the temperature of the water ;)

Glad to know I'm not the only one using the wetsuit as protection
against "stuff". The water at Meech was great on the weekend - as was
my fearless leader... thanks Oli!

Another interesting point about swimming without a wetsuit .... you end up way at the back ... I must have reach T1 almost last of the "challenge" wave.

Wait! are you saying that a wetsuit actually makes you *faster* ??!?!?

All I can say to that is thank goodness. if it didn't make me faster,
I dont' think I'd ever make it to the bike ;)

Personally I was glad I had a wetsuit to protect me from that "stuff"
floating around in the water although I would also like to thank Oli and the
rest of the challenge group for breaking it all up before us 40-49 er's had
to swim through it.
