I am looking to update the firmware of my printer to the latest version, but I cant find any of the old files with the settings for this printer.  Does anyone have it or have an updated version for this printer?

Hi Andrew,

I'd get a second Arduino to try this out on.
I bricked one & then had to use a cheap programmer to read the bootloader from the working one & be able to program the wiped one.
It would also let you dump all of the rest of what's loaded to hex files & reload the same.

If you don't use a taurino then watch out for standard one needing seperate power as it will fry on 24 volts fed from the RAMPS board.

RAMPS http://reprap.org/wiki/RAMPS_1.4
At the end of which is the For 24 V http://reprap.org/wiki/RAMPS_24v
At the end of which is for the Taurino

This you have to be more careful of.

NB The 5 amp side also powers the mega, via the diode D1. Do not feed this with more that 12 volts. The on board voltage regulator on the mage2560 board will over heat and die.

First step is to work out how you are going to power the maga2560. There are several options.

  1. Remove D1, power the mega via the 2.1mm center-positive DC jack, The recommended range is 7 to 12 volts.
  2. Remove D1, and power mega2560 via the USB cable. You must leave what ever its connected to on or the mega will power down.
  3. You can use a special mega2560 that is designed to take 24v an example is the Taurino Power. It just plugs in, do not remove D1.

Here's a file set I grabbed at some point for batch 3.1. In the attached zip.
STLs
Slicer settings
A1 Marlin code

Be aware the motor directions were not all the same between printers.
It's OK to swap stepper wiring (when powered off) around rather than change the code until you are used to it.
Just swap one pair 12 34 -> 21 34 or it won't reverse direction. Literally a double negative.

I probably have other files like the dumped hex's but settings are compiled in so mine are not likely to match your's (maybe the bootloader might).

Hope that helps,

Chris

I sent him some old batch 3 original firmware and some current firmware I setup. Not sure if he got around to messing with it yet...

i have done a ton of mods to mine and I am getting ready to put on a Bontech QR and an E3DV6.

Mods in the description, however some were put on after the boring video was shot :)

Not sure if it's what you're looking for, but I grabbed a download of docs.trinitylabs.com before it went dark. It's not current, and who knows which version you had on your printer when you got it, but maybe helpful
