My Aluminatus, #10 from the first shipment, has been a workhorse.  I've probably clogged the nozzle with a batch of experimental high-impact PLA.  I may be able to clear it out, but just in case, I'd like to buy a drop-in replacement hotend.

Will the current version of the J-head, Mk V-BV, work without firmware updates?

https://www.hotends.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=88

It has been years since I have been into the firmware, so I'll need to dig up resources on how to tweak that stuff if I end up needing to pick a different thermistor setting or something.

If there's no way to avoid a firmware update, maybe I can finally upgrade the hotend to something with replaceable nozzles.  Tips?  (Ha!)

Thanks!

Dave

There is a 24 volt e3d v6 kit, that's what I use. I'm running smoothieware so I can't comment on the firmware aspect.

I have some original A1 Hotends here left if you are interested.

I am interested!  Way easier than an upgrade at this point.
