Just wanted to provide everyone with an update on locations that are
open to the public in various areas of the county for folks to take a
little breather.
The following clean air sites are available
Hayfork - Roderick Center - During regular hours ( HEPA filter)
Weaverville - Trinity Hospital 24-7 (HEPA filter)
Behavorial Health - Milestones drop in center -
See Below for times
The Strawhouse - Big Flat - During regular hours (there is a HEPA
filter there)
All these locations have people managing them so we will not need to
provide outside monitors
The Health Department will provide something for the Journal as to
what Trinity County residents should be doing to protect themselves
from the smoky conditions.
Milestones, our Weaverville drop-in center for adults/older adults,
is located at 80-B Nugget Lane, between the bowling alley and Marino’s
restaurant. It is currently open 12-5 Monday through Thursday and
from 9-5 on Fridays. We have clean air, some snacks and numerous
recreational activities. People who come would also be welcome to
sign up for some of the other scheduled groups that take place when
the facility is closed to the general public (outside the hours
above). We plan to continue to operate these hours until the smoke
clears or until there is a clear indication that the space is not
needed by our clients and others. There is no charge for any of our
activities at Milestones. We also have internet and computers
available. We are glad to be able to help in this community crisis.
Please touch base with me directly with any questions.
Best Regards,
Jeff Morris
