District 2 mailing list folks,
I hope that this note finds you all well. November marks the next to
last month of my term on the Trinity County Board of Supervisors.
Four years really does move along.
We've been through a lot together over that time. From the edge of
county bankruptcy and a failing hospital in January of 2005 to a
restored bond rating, an independent health care district and expanded
opportunities in great community driven projects like the Weaverville
Community Forest. It has been an amazing experience and a testament
to the drive and tenacity of our county. I cannot thank you all
enough for your support for our community.
As many of you know, I just finished a campaign for California’s 2nd
Congressional District. Trinity County voters came out for me and we
were also successful in winning Butte County. Although I was
unsuccessful in winning the election I am proud of the race that we
ran, the issues that we raised and the countless supporters and
volunteers that continue to move Northern California's conversation
forward.
I am prouder still of my trusted confidant, best friend and now fellow
politician, my wife Judy Morris. Judy, a brilliant strategist, was
successful in her election to succeed me in representing Trinity's 2nd
District on the Board of Supervisors. Judy's quick mind, knowledge of
the issues and true caring for the people of this community and this
county will be a great asset to the board and the county organization
as a whole. I am honored to have her as my representative
(although my privileges as a constituent end at our driveway........).
Please support Judy in her new endeavor and please keep in touch. We
both appreciate your continued support and look forward to continuing
our journey with the citizens of this rural county in the heart of the
Klamath / Trinity mountain range.
Best Regards,
Jeff Morris
