The Trinity County Board of Supervisors will be holding a special
meeting on Friday, April 13th (ominous....) at 9:00am in the Board
Chambers at the Weaverville Library.

We will be receiving an update from our new Special Projects
Coordinator for the General Plan, Susan Price. Susan has vast
experience in both urban and rural planning and the board is excited
about her and the contribution that she will be making towards this
effort.

This initial meeting will really be a discussion of responsibilities
and process without touching on specific zoning, projects and the
like.......more of a 10,000 foot view. It is also the beginning of
creating a truly comprehensive plan for the future of this county.
This is an issue that I campaigned on and it is truly gratifying to be
able to start seeing it come to its fruition.

Topics to be disussed are:

Overall Process - Public Invovlement, Interaction with Planning
Commission, Number of Meetings to be held in communities, etc.

Community Plans - Which to continue, which to update, which to
add........

Elements to include - There are seven mandated elements to include
within a General Plan within California and they are Land Use,
Circulation, Housing, Conservation, Open Space, Noise and Safety.
Any county may choose to add optional elements such as Economic
Development, Public Facilities and Infrastructure or a Fire Element if
they so choose. One recommendation that Supervisor Reiss and I will
be making will be a "Senior" or "Aging" element to the plan.

Even if you can't be at the meeting this issue is a priority for me
and I will be keeping this email list updated as to progress and input
opportunities. Please feel free to get in touch with me at any time.

Best Regards,

Jeff Morris
