TBCA executive 2011-2012

Hi folks -- 

After last night's executive election meeting I'm delighted to welcome a mix of old and new faces to the executive of the Trinity Bellwoods Community Association. 

Many thanks to Liz Magner, Sue Campbell, Josh Shang and Derek Chadbourne, each of whom worked at executive positions last year. 

After some discussion at the beginning of the meeting we've formalized the co-chair arrangement so that each co-chair serves a staggered two-year term. I'll continue as co-chair for the final year of what is now a two-year term. Meanwhile, new co-chair Chris Walker, a frequent meeting attendee, longtime resident and architect by profession, will begin his first year of a two-year commitment at the co-chair position. 

The 2011 / 2012 executive:

Co-Chairs -- Chris Walker / Chris Shulgan 

Treasurer -- Sandy Stagg 

Minutes secretary -- Ross Burnett (elected in absentia after Ross signalled he'd like to remain in the position)

Membership secretary -- Paula Capela

Media Secretary -- Matt Bremer

Members-at-large -- Anne Keary, Lois Schklar, Ed Dosman and Michael Sims

Finally, the liaison positions:

CAMH – Michael Sims

Interim Police liaison – Sandy Stagg

BIAs – Paula Capela

Thanks to everyone who came out to the meeting. It's sure to be an exciting year.

My thanks to the outgoing board members and my congratulations to the newly elected board. No doubt this will be an exciting year for the Association as it grows. I look forward to continuing to have a close working relationship with the TBCA and its co-chairs as we move ahead together.

My apologies for missing the meeting yesterday, but I was held up at City Council. I look forward to seeing you all at the next meeting. I'd also like to suggest that we continue the tradition of co-hosting a skating party at trinity bellwoods with a goal of signing up new members for the TBCA and that we look for a date in the New Year.
