Find a piece of scrap paper or open up a new note file on your phone. Spend a minute making a list of things for which you are thankful. Don’t write sentences. Just write down enough so that you remember what you were thinking of when you wrote the words. You are also welcome to draw images instead of using words.

Next, start another list below the first one, titled “I know God is good because…” Spend a minute completing that sentence with examples from your own life. Again, just jot ideas as they come to you.

Finally, start another list below the first two, titled “I trust that God’s faithful love lasts forever because…” This list may be harder to make, but try to think of examples from that past that help you have faith in God for the future.

After you’ve collected these memories of your thankfulness, of God’s goodness, and of God’s everlasting love, spend time talking to God about the lists.
