The Unexpected Expected.
Working at Unterwegs always gives one the feeling of the unexpected expected. What does that even mean, I'm not sure I always know. I think it looks like a mixture of: we make plans, host events, have an open space for students to come together and experience being a part of a community, provide free food and drinks and pour out our hearts into and for our students...
all in hope for the chance that one student might get to experience God's love and goodness in a new way.
Yet whenever it happens, I'm still always blown away. It's still beautiful to me every single time I see Friedi walk in and be stunned that she can just have a free dessert to give her a little extra motivation to help her study. When someone comes in for the first time and stays for hours talking to new friends. When I sit across from a girl and she entrusts me with her life's stories and we get to talk about faith and what that even means.
Sometimes it's harder to see, but then the small and big unexpected expected happens and you get to stand in awe of what God is doing through one simple campus ministry in Tübingen, Germany.

Julian.
Julian is a student that's been coming around to Cafe English for a while but started being a part of the Unterwegs family/community a lot in November. Whenever he sees anyone from Unterwegs he just lights up and smiles from ear to ear. He is one of the most genuine and sincere people I have met. He's joined a vesper group this semester and has started playing in the Donnerstagabend band and has been coming with super deep and thought out theology questions. Questions that he has thought a lot about, questions that he just truly doesn't get and ones that he wants to hear peoples opinions about. And the cool thing is: he gets to do that at Unterwegs. He's found the place where he can be fully Julian and ask questions about faith and who God is if there is a God. He was talking to one of my teammates the other day and my teammate just randomly said, "man, Julian I'm really glad I know you." and Julian just looked at him and said, "I really like Unterwegs and you guys too, I truly never thought or expected to have as good of friends as you guys when I came to Tübingen."
The unexpected gives room for the hope that the future holds.
We could have never expected a Julian, but we are all here hoping, waiting and expecting for the unexpected to come.

-Pray for our Unterwegs retreat in early June and that we will have at least 40 students come with us!

Financial Support!
I am in need of about 30% of my yearly budget for this year.
I would love it if you guys would pray about raising your support ($10, $20, or however much monthly) or if you would think of a few names of people, small groups or churches who might be interested in supporting what God is doing in Germany!
