We urge you to pledge that you will not be a passive bystander but an active participant in the governance of T&T. A government is elected but without the participation and involvement of the citizens we cannot move forward. If you do not play your part then you will get the government you deserve. These online groups and Facebook pages were created, nurtured, and now maintained for the sole objectives of allowing you to have a voice and a forum to express your views, to debate and discuss, and to develop strong bonds with your fellow citizens. No matter what government is in power -  and we played a significant role in electing this government - it is imperative that we are be alert and vigilant and ensure the government performs and is focused on good governance.

2012 will be a critical year as the global economy faces a possible double dip recession, or, at best, a period of very slow growth. Geopolitical tensions continue as instability and war persist in many parts of the world. T&T must work harder and smarter, and we need far better leadership than the current one. The PM must admit things are not working as they should - that's the first step to solving our problems. If the government fails to admit that and continues with the same policies then we - the people - must advocate strongly and put pressure on the government to do the right thing. That is our role and we will do all we can for the development and progress of T&T. Our only loyalty is to T&T, not any political party or politician, but we reserve the right to change that policy if and when the need arises.  There are a few independent groups who are, like us, not satisfied with what is happening in our nation and we believe that these groups may have to come forward to reshape the politics in T&T if the main political parties continue to practise the backward UNC/PNM racist tribal politics.

Best wishes to all  -- from the Moderators of:
