Sirs
I'm not too sure I'm understanding the methods used in 'polling' on the IBN shows hosted by Government/Ministry of Works and Transport contractor, Inshan Ishmael.
With the triumphant announcement of the results of a poll which has absolutely no footing in reality, he immediately follows by saying that after giving percentages, he could not say what number of people were polled.
Are percentages not based on a total? Can you have 20%...one fifth...zero point two or whatever variation of an unknown figure? It is a pity and indeed, a betrayal of a sacred trust which IBN enjoys from viewers to attempt to run with a bogus poll in support of a friendship. There are very few people who do not know that Inshan and Anil Roberts are friends. In fact, more and more people are coming to know that Anil and Jack Warner share a very hazy and questionable relationship. And then of course, by virtue of Inshan's new found "contract" with VMCOTT, we know that Inshan and Jack are once again buddies.
It doesn't take too much deducing to figure out the plan. Inshan is being made to work for his contract.
The more important issue, however, is the fact that he would actually attempt to promote a candidate for the leadership of the COP whose only claim to his appropriateness is that he's a good swimmer, and who has a Campaign Manager working for him who is systematically flooding our emails with utter rubbish.
The clear choice, at all levels, appear to be Prakash Ramadhar. On the streets, markets, taxis, bars...wherever the discussions are going, Prakash is leading. Strange then that on IBN, somehow the Anil Roberts/Inshan Ishmael/Jack Warner troika finds other results.
And look at the bunch - Anil Nikki Minage (I wasn't drunk when I bounced the State's Prado); Jack Everyone in the world is out to get me because I have never done anything wrong in my whole life, and Inshan give me a good contract and IBN is yours!
That's quite a team!

You did not count the number yet you calculated the percentage of votes each candidate got. Who are you trying to fool Inshan. To make a comment like this shows that you don't know how percentages are calculated. Would you like me to simplify it for you? A percentage is a portion of the whole. If you don't know what is the whole, you can't calculate percentage. So is either the poll bogus or you bogus.

We unfortunately did not count the number but we took a call every 5 - 6 seconds and the poll lasted approximately 12 minutes, so the math is easy. As stated before, this is just a snapshot and it could mean that some viewers are more enthused in calling than others or it could simply mean that some have gotten directives to call from Campaign managers, also I know that one or two candidates have temas set up to make calls to radio and TV stations..

We all know it is not a scientific one but a snap shot of your viewership.
Anxiously awaiting your response.

Well for those who looked at Inshan's show last night he once again did a poll of the four candidates going up in the COP election:
Results are as follows:
Anil Roberts got 80% of the votes
Vernon de Lima got 10%
Prakash Ramadhar got 6% and
Nalini Dial got 4%
Time will tell
