PillowThoughts is a collection of poetry and prose about heartbreak, love, loss, and self-worth. Peppernell divided this into ten sections, making it so simple to skip to the parts where you want to feel the most.
Through her writing, Peppernell confesses blatantly honest struggles and emotions individuals grapple with at some point in their lives. Some examples include self-esteem issues and the importance of self-worth.
Her words are simple and to the point, but in the same breath, relatable and transparent. Peppernell has an amazing writing ability to capture such intensity and release it onto the page in a light-hearted and comforting way.
Her talent is manifested throughout the 256 pages of Pillow Thoughts. Each section was written with the intention to be read when the reader is in a specific frame of mind. The table of thoughts include if you are dreaming of someone, are in love, heartbroken, lonely, sad, or missing someone.
The others include if you are missing someone, need encouragement, soul-searching, or need a reason to stay. The last one is dedicated to her partner, Rhian. This final touch strings it all together. She allowed her readers to understand she is just like them. She is not portraying some exaggerated sentiments that she has no experience with. She understands the sensations that feelings leave you with, and her empathy is recognizable. Her feelings are prevalent, and utterly impossible to ignore.
Since its publication in 2017, there has been three more Pillow Thoughts books released as part of a series; Healing the Heart in 2018, Mending the Mind in 2019, and the most recent Stitching the Soul in August of 2020.
Whether you are a poetry fan or not, this is a must read that will have little sticky notes on so many of the pages. To be able to flip back and forth, knowing her solacing words are there, is a true talent.
How does this work? It may have something to do with the subconscious mind. We can wonder whether the subconscious mind is especially open to suggestion when you are preparing for sleep. And is it possible that the thoughts and emotions you feel at that time can become embedded in your subconscious mind? And if so, is it possible that those embedded thoughts and emotions will affect your waking thoughts, emotions and actions?
I have been considering purchasing the Stretchsit Cushion, but I want to make sure that I will benefit from it. I have also been considering buying an inflatable lumbar pillow, such as the Therm-a-Rest Lumbar Pillow, which has been very well liked ( -A-Rest-Therm-a-rest-Lumbar-Pillow/dp/B004IIRSAU/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top).
Dr. Stuart McGill, one of the world's most prominent, if not the most prominent, scientist devoted solely to low back studies, suggests on his website that sitting should be dynamic in nature, with postures changing so given tissues don't get overloaded with stress. ( _support.php). He notes that although slouching (lumbar spine in a very flexed positon) will stress the discs too much, sitting up too straight for too long will activate the psoas and back extensor muscles, basically crushing the spine over a period of time.
I like Dr. McGill's idea of making sitting dynamic, but I wonder how the stretchsit cushion plays into this. I'm honestly considering buying both products, but before I do so I want to get some opinions on what the best solution might be.
Thanks for your question. First of all, I would like to say that our primary purpose is not sale of the stretchsit cushion. It's primary purpose is to facilitate and adapt many different chairs to make them more suitable for stretchsitting. In stretchsitting, with or without the aid of this cushion, you are enjoying a period of traction in your spine for extended periods of time. If you have had the pleasure of reading "8 Steps to a Pain-Free Back," you realize that our goal is to restore the spine through lengthening and decompressing the spine to it's natural J-shape.
By anteverting the pelvis and stacking the vertebrae you will enjoy good alignment of the spine over the leg bones without muscle strain. This lengthening and decompressing actually removes some of the stresses that cause disc degeneration -- definitely not resulting in a crushing of the spine.
I would add to the great things that Norm said. Whether or not you get the stretchsit cushion, I would strongly advise against a lumbar roll. Folks with lower back pain from swayed spines may like it, because it can keep them from feeling the pain they may feel from sitting. However, it only encourages the short, tight muscles in the back, and doesn't allow the stacking of the vertebrae as they are designed to stack. So, if you use a lumbar roll, you get short term benefit but long-term lack of support and dependence.
The extra-canon talk about Sunset being bi meant that there was perfect potential to do a lot of stories about her questioning. Themes like that just go great with her storylines about redemption and crossing worlds, which would create the perfect way to shape some great fuckin' layers. Though, I guess with how most folks headcanon Equestria and how Sunset is usually portrayed in the realm of "older than the other girls from time fucky wuckies" we just see tons of stories where she's all "bi the way ;)" and it's never touched upon ever again. Shaaaaaame.
Speaking of the whole "Sunset is unofficially, in some way, going to be older than the Human Six" that comes in regardless of everyone's headcanons, few authors seem to pay any mind to how she wouldn't be able to be too much older without some problems. Romeo and Juliet law shaped problems. The types of offenders that shouldn't be mentioned on E-rated story sorta problems. In the end, Sunset would have to be either a) the age of a normal high-schooler, maybe pushing a super senior b) slightly younger and used to faking being slightly older or c) around the age of underclassmen in college. All of those age groups have one thing in common: they're filled with feelings. Lots and lots and lots and lots of feelings. Some of which might even be the Queer Kind (tm). Seeing how that wasn't neglected here and the adorable interplay of her and Twilight in coming out made this a piece of fluff with a real solid heart to it.

Oh ah i like this comment a lot! while I don't remember much about this fic I do remember it was pretty fluffy haha. Thanks for the words and the interesting stuff you said. Stuff to think about (though I do have my own thoughts about her age but ehhh that's a thing for a different story... literally.)
That's assuming you don't go the Krickis route and artificially/magically reverse her age, of course. The ones that came to mind were the options that were the ones that worked within keeping her age natural.
She looked down at the blanket that she had started gripping again. It was covered in stars and judging by the fact that Sunset could recognize a few constellations, she figured that it must be covered in more like them. She's such a nerd, Sunset thought warmly.
She held her gaze on her friend before averting it to the fence in the far back reach of Twilight's yard. On it grew a jasmine vine, just starting to bloom its white flowers. She didn't know much about plants, but jasmine was always her favourite.
"Then I can say with about ninety-five percent certainty that you probably like this girl," Twilight stated. "At least, from what you just told me. I might not have been able to find a list detailing everything about liking someone, but the common factors I found during my research and the things you explained seem to correlate with each other.
"It may not be a big help, since it is just a hypothesis on my end, but I'm usually right when there's logic to be applied, and while emotions have many human variables that you can't account for, you can take still take raw data from that to come to a logical conclusion with a pretty good amount of certainty."
hehe, nerd! though i would have phrased it as there being a less than five percent chance of Sunset feeling these things in the case where she did not like this girl, thus educating her about the definition of p-value
"Hey," Sunset murmured. She brushed a stray lock of hair from Twilight's face. "Relax, I get what you're trying to say. Take a deep breath, you're getting yourself worked up," she instructed quietly. She rested her other hand on Twilight's shoulder as she did as she was told and rubbed up and down her arm in the way that Sunset knew Twilight liked.

Falstaff is both a comic and tragic central protagonist in Shakespeare's three Henry plays. He is companion to Prince Hal (the future Henry V), who loves him, goads him, teases him, indulges his vast appetites, and commits all sorts of mischief with him. Award-winning author and esteemed professor Harold Bloom examines Falstaff with the deepest compassion and sympathy and also with unerring wisdom. He uses the relationship between Falstaff and Hal to explore the devastation of severed bonds and the heartbreak of betrayal.
