Whilstmost manufactures will put the Windows 7 drivers in the box with the printer we always recommend downloading the drivers directly from the manufactures website, that way you are sure to get the latest Windows 7 driver.

I have a HP Officejet Pro L7480 and my problem is that, after I have stripped my computer of existing drivers and downloaded the new (windows 7 compatible) drivers from the HP Website, I then reconnect my printer which automatically uploads is own pre-intalled drivers (not compatible with Windows 7) to my pc which muddles the whole thing up again.

My fairly new 6 month old Lexmark X6675 all-in-one continues to work perfectly with both my Vista notebook and my XP netbook but is not compatable with my new Windows 7 notebook, despite Windows own compatibility site that lists this combo printer with a nice big green check mark indicating is is compatible with Win 7. Wrong.

P.S. Iwent onto Canon to no avail. The only problem there may be is one of the downloadswas MP navigator M6C19MUx.exeit asks me to press the unzip button. 44 files are unzipped but then it does not ask me to do anytning else with them. The options are: unzip, Run WinZip, close, about and Help. Could this be the problem with my scanner in the message above?

I have just bought a Ricoh Aficio gx e 3300n printer, and a hp windows 7 pc. Only to find that they are not compatable. I have asked for proper installation discs,or for a refund on the printer. What do you think I should do next?

Just came across your site while searching for Win 7 64 bit driver for my Minolta QMS Magicolor 2 Desklaser. I have read at least one message where your readers were looking for similar Magicolor drivers.

One thing I have learned is that there is a difference between a Magicolor 2 and a magicolor 2 Desklaser. The driver for the Magicolor 2 does not work for the Desklaser model. So I suspect that the person attempting to install the driver for the magicolor 2200 Desklaser will have the same problem in installing the magicolor 2200 driver. Also, it appears that Win 7 64 bit has drivers for some of these printers only if they have the PS (post-script) designation after the model number.

My Canon LBP3300 network printer has been working well for a couple of years and survived Fedora upgrades along the way. Some time in the last few days, it has stopped printing. I would like some help working out what went wrong and how to fix it.

I also removed the printer from ccpd and cupsd and re-initialised them using port 59687 instead of 59787 (as this had been suggested a couple of years ago when I was first installing the printer driver).

I also noticed that CUPS is saying that printer drivers are deprecated and will be removed in the next feature release. So I phoned Canon here in Aus, and they do not provide any support for linux. Nor do they have any IPP or Postscript laser printers. Not looking good.

If you are using this driver in a 64-bit environment, and update a version 2.20 driver to version 2.30 or later, errors may occur when printing.

This problem can be solved by uninstalling (rpm -e [driver]) then re-installing (rpm -i [driver]) the new driver.

The 5 minute timeout during shutdown continues, but I just run a script to stop the ccpd daemon before shutown or restart and the process has returned to normal, albeit with an extra step before shutting down.

I understand that you are having issue with your LBP3300. Please be advised that we do not have an ETA for the updated driver and software compatible with Linux. Also, we are not capable of supporting Linux computer. I would suggest to contact Linux support regarding the issue that you encounter.
