Hello, everyone! Shane seems pretty busy today so I'm stepping in to update you all on this weeks progress.

The biggest and most obvious news is that milestone 1 was released last week. You've probably already seen a picture or video or maybe even had a little play around. Well done to everyone involved, it's the first piece of hard evidence that we're actually getting somewhere. You can read more about it on the forum. Bear in mind, there are a few small issues that we're completely aware of and they will probably be fixed before or alongside M2. M2 should focus on sound and potentially jumping, this will be solidified as the month goes on. You can read more in the milestone document.

We're also thinking of constructing a launcher and updater for the project to make releases far smoother. I've proposed the idea on the forums, feel free to drop your opinions in there. This launcher would consist of a server side system that allows us to manage our releases within an S3 bucket and a local program that will allow you to update to the latest build and launch the game. It could also facilitate extra options to launch the game with or other such external aides. I'm willingly putting myself forward to get a working version going too, it's not just idle musing, I can and want to build this for everyone.

Zardoz84 has proposed a spec and VM for his RC3200 CPU and Shane has given it the thumbs up, so it looks like we have ourselves an official flagship CPU. So if you've been itching to get pre-emptively writing software for in game, you're probably okay to do so. Just ask around in IRC first as to how you should go about it. (Everything is still subject to change, please bear that in mind before you go implementing Unix on this)

My thanks go out to danix111 for helping to collate this weeks status update. Good luck with the week to come everyone, hopefully we'll have another massive list of our achievements to wave about by the time next Monday comes around.

Thanks for reading,

Wolfy87
