I've setup a TriFunc slack account. Just send me an email if you want an invitation.

I prefer IRC personally, but I realize that's not for everyone, and slack offers a lot of handy functionality such as history. Also, you can interact with it via IRC if you want, so it's the best of both worlds :)

If you're not familiar with Slack, it's similar to hip chat or campfire - online chat with history & a bunch of other features. Individuals can create their own channels - for example, I created a sicp channel for folks who are going through SICP.
