As most of you are probably aware, Google Code will be shut down soon.
As a result, we need to migrate the project to Github.

One side-effect of that will be that the URL will be "under" a user.
So if I were to migrate the project, it will end up as something like 'github.com/pkjaer/tridion-powertools'.
I don't know if there's a way to avoid that, though.

If there are no objections, I will attempt the migration this weekend.
While I'm at it, I will also rename the project to get rid of the '2011' in the name :)

I propose to make a GitHub organization. https://github.com/organizations/new
It's free for Open Source projects and prevents from having the repo under your user account.

We just have to find a proper organization name. Will it the organization "tridion-powertools" or "independent-tridion-nerds" :)

Thanks, Peter and good idea, Jan.

A name that's more general than just powertools but less generic than "SDL" would be good. :-)

I've started the process. I chose "Tridion Community" as the organization, but it looks like the export will first create the repository on my account.
It's okay, though, since GitHub supports renames as well as transfer of ownership. So I should be able to do all of that after the export is complete.

Alright, the export is complete. The new home is at: https://github.com/TridionCommunity/tridion-powertools

In the upcoming period, existing contributors will be invited to join the TridionCommunity organization on GitHub.

Thanks, Peter.

For those new to GitHub, Bart Koopman recommended Source Tree as a source control client:

http://www.sourcetreeapp.com

We'll confirm how we'll handle the old wiki pages next.

Thanks, Peter. Could you add me as GitHub user "Nivlong?"

Maybe we could use/share the same GitHub organization with the TridionWorld repository or even STRI's repositories (code or the white label HTML site). I'll see what Bart Koopman thinks.
