The money raised for the YMCA Peaks to Portland Swim to Benefit Kids is crucial for the YMCA of Southern Maine to be able to help all kids reach their full potential through programs like swim lessons, summer camp, and child care. We believe that together we can help all youth reach their full potential!
A 2.4 mile swim from Peaks Island to East End Beach in Portland, we encourage participation from all people ages 16 and older with a variety of fitness levels and competitive experiences. We encourage anyone who can swim a mile in less than 40 minutes to join us for this unforgettable swim across the shipping channel in Casco Bay to East End Beach! It will be an open water swim of a life-time and raises money for a great cause!

Yes, I'm planning on using a kayaker. I find it hard to sight from the water. Last year we had a tanker which helped but I'm guessing it won't be there again this year!

Congratulations
to all our swimmers that completed the Peaks to Portland race last
weekend! A particular congratulations
to Marcy Scharf who was the 3rd place women’s finisher (!!!) and also won
her age group! Awesome! After forecasts for thunderstorms earlier in the week, the weather turned out beautiful and the water was great. Overall it was an
excellent day to swim!
