Great report and thanks for sharing! Three days away from home in unfamiliar shoes/cleats is enough to make anyone worry! If you can conquer that you can do anything!
I was also thinking it would be nice to get a group of TRIDEXXers together for a group Trek sometime. I imagine I would prefer to do the Trek at a slower pace and enjoy the scenery and company, as you did.
Did you ride pretty much non-stop or take impromptu breaks along the way at interesting looking places? I used to do a lot of cross-country motorcycle riding, and getting off bike to explore was a huge part of why I enjoyed it so much. I am finding that road cycling is similar now that I have the endurance to go on longer rides and get to new places...
