OS: Window-7
Browser: IE-8

I can access my application from anyother machine which is having browser IE7, please tell me if anyone facing such type or related problem. i think tririga supports ie7 nd ie8 both, why is it not working on ie8?

I am not sure about the exact error you are facing. But I faced a similar problem like yours. I was having IE9 and workflows were not rendering. While earlier they were working fine.
I checked the basic things uninstalled IE9 and still in IE8 WF were not loading. On detail analysis I found that problem was not with the IE but it was with the TRIRIGA server instance I was using, It was a new instance and when I tried some different instance on that it was working. On comparing the two instances by going into the Admin Console I found that properties rendering workflows was set to Adobe, which will require SVGView form Adobe to be installed on the system, else the workflow will not work. My Admin changed  the setting from Adobe to something else and workflows started loading.

Most of the time when the start or switch do not work when editing a workflow it is Java related. If you just update Java to 7.x you might want to try going back to 6.25 or so.

For IE only: You need the SVG Viewer plug-in and set in the TRIRIGAWEB.properties : SVG_VIEW_TYPE=APPLET

A Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) viewer is required to view SVG content in IBM TRIRIGA. Adobe support for its SVG Viewer plug-in ended January 1, 2009. IBM TRIRIGA provides and supports the IBM TRIRIGA SVG Viewer Applet. No installation is required to use the IBM TRIRIGA SVG Viewer Applet. To change to the IBM TRIRIGA SVG Viewer Applet, follow these steps:

  • Set the SVG_VIEW_TYPE property to APPLET.
  • Clear the server browser cache and close all browser windows.
  • Clear the browser cache and close all browser windows on all client computers.
  • Use a new browser instance for the first time that all client computers sign in to IBM TRIRIGA.

When you change from the Adobe viewer to the IBM TRIRIGA SVG Viewer Applet:

  • Republish existing drawings that are published from IBM TRIRIGA CAD Integrator/Publisher. Republished drawings are compatible with the Adobe SVG Viewer plug-in.
  • Ensure that all client computers have the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) that is specified in the IBM TRIRIGA Support Matrix. According to the Microsoft web page Information for Developers about Internet Explorer (at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/bb969055.aspx): As of April 2008, the activation behavior is permanently removed for all customers as part of the April 2008 Internet Explorer Cumulative Update (947864). This Internet Explorer (IE) cumulative update replaces the IE ACA previews released in December 2007 and February 2008.
  • Configure client computers to use the ‘Next-generation Java plug-in’.

Use the SVG_VIEW_TYPE property (that is defined in the following table) to specify your company SVG viewer preference. The default is to use the Adobe SVG Viewer plug-in.

Property

Values

Description

SVG_VIEW_TYPE

ADOBE, APPLET

Controls which application is used to view SVG content on pages. The property includes the following values:

  • ADOBE: Use the Adobe SVG Viewer plug-in.
  • APPLET: Use the IBM TRIRIGA SVG Viewer Applet.

The default value is ADOBE.

Thanks

Valérie

Check the TRIRIGA support Matrix for the platform you are on. This will give you the client configuration that will work.

Hello,

I was having this exact issue two days ago with my new laptop running Windows 7. I knew it had nothing to do with the server config because it works from my other machines. I went to download.cnet.com to get Adobe SVG eacy to find there ans went to Oracle to download Java 6. Problem resolved.

IE keeps wanting to block the Active X because we are all so naive about the world. Just Say NO. and you're good
