Using TRIDENT tutorial on IllustrisTNG data

Hello everyone,

I'm working at MPIfR, and currently trying to use the TRIDENT tutorial on IllustrisTNG simulation data.

I'm having some problems, which from my very limited understanding (I'm new to the cosmological simulation community) seem to stem from Illustris having AREPO-like data which YT treats as modified GADGET data, but struggles to load properly as it does not have certain fields (such as smoothing length).

I've come across this previous question on the group about the topic, and I think the answers there cover my exact problem.

Please would you tell me if my understanding is correct, and also assist me in correctly loading IllustrisTNG data into yt/TRIDENT to complete the tutorial?
