Subject: NYC Running Show, upcoming races

I hope this e-mail finds you well and gearing up for a great spring. We have several exciting things coming up that we want to share with you. Please pass these on to your club members, blog readers, and anyone else who might be interested.
  • "Anyone Can Win" 5k Race - April 12th
  • JackRabbit Running Show - April 22nd & 23rd
  • Clubs & Races Event at the Running Show - Secure your table!
  • Run for the Rabbit "Teaser" commercial airs Tuesday March 22nd
  • JackRabbit JerseyMan Open Water Swim - Including transportation!
  • Other exciting opportunities for transport to events

Anyone Can Win 5k - April 12th - Prospect Park
Join us in Prospect Park for a unique prediction race. How well do you know your own pace? The winner of this event won't be the fastest runner, but the runner who knows their own pace best. When you register, you specify a "predicted" finish time -- and the winner is the person who is closest to this time. No watches can to be worn and there will be no time clocks on the course. Last year, the winner came in within 1 second of her predicted time, and the top 30% came in within 1 minute. There's no race tee shirt -- all proceeds go towards projects in Prospect Park to benefit the running community. Are you up for the challenge? For more information and to register visit the event website.

Are you interested in being a part of this event but don't want to run? Come volunteer! We are looking for people to help with day-of registration, bag check, course marshaling and more. Register to volunteer or contact mo...@jackrabbitsports.com for more information.

JackRabbit Running Show - April 22nd & 23rd
It's Opening Day for Running in NYC! Kick off your spring the right way with 30,000 sq feet of expo space, clinics, speakers, panel discussions, and social events. Over two dozen of the top brands in running & triathlon will be exhibiting, including speakers and panels like Scott Jurek, Matt Long, the trend toward minimalist shoes and barefoot running, a seminar on women's health issues in running, clinics on improving running form, nutrition, and many more. We haven't made this public yet, but we wanted you to be among the first to know: Survivor winners Ethan Zohn and Jenna Morasca will be speaking at the Team in Training event at the show on Friday night, and we've partnered with NYCRuns.com to put together a panel on the NYC Running scene on Saturday afternoon.

A $10 ticket gets you $15 off of your purchases at the show, and there will be great free gifts for people who spend over $100, $200, or $350. It's a great opportunity to gear up for spring and start the season right! Get more information and purchase your tickets on the JackRabbit Running Show website: www.nycrunshow.com.

Clubs & Races Event at the Running Show
Along with all of the exciting booths, speakers, and panels at the Running Show, we are also having a special event to showcase all of the amazing local clubs and teams that make NYC such a vibrant place to run. This mini-expo taking place on Saturday, April 23rd from 3-6pm is a great opportunity for your club to recruit new members, show off your team spirit, and market any upcoming events. Best of all, participation is free if at least 10 members of your group buy tickets to the show! Don't miss out - encourage your club members to buy their tickets and secure your table today! We have included a blurb (attached) for you to simply copy and paste to help spread the word to your club members.

Run for the Rabbit "Teaser" commercial airs Tuesday March 22nd
The Run for the Rabbit campaign kicks off at the JackRabbit NYC Running Show on April 22nd. Starting tomorrow, we're letting the world know about the campaign with a teaser commercial that will run during Daily Show, Conan, the NCAA Sweet Sixteen round, and a number of basic cable channels through Time Warner Cable. Check it out on YouTube!

JackRabbit JerseyMan Open Water Swim - May 7th
We are offering an open water swim at Spruce Run Reservoir as a preview for JackRabbit Jerseyman Triathlon Festival. Participants can choose from .6, 1.2 or 2.4 mile swims. Can't get to northern New Jersey on your own? Sign up for roundtrip bus service from JackRabbit! Buses will depart from Union Square and return throughout the morning. You can even include a boxed lunch! Reserve your spot on the bus at the same time you sign up for the event: Open Water Swim Registration with optional bus transportation!

Getting to the Start - Help from JackRabbit
We know that one of the most frustrating things about being an athlete in New York City is getting to the race start on time with limited headaches. In an effort to ease your race day stress, we are trying to arrange bus transportation to a variety of events in and around the metro area. Please email us if there's a popular running race that you'd love to find an easier way to get to!

See below for a blurb about the NYC Running Show that you can share.
