So normally I wouldnt have any sort of problem installing a wine program, that is until a ran across the latest itunes installer. When I run it, it explains how I don't have windows 7 service pack 1 installed. Does wine have a configuration where I can change which system the apps are emulating under? Thanks and regards,Thomas
If you turn on the Autorun option, iTunes is not set to first run automatically. In this case, you run iTunes from its desktop icon.I think that the Autorun option is a bit dangerous, so test that iTunes is working first, then reinstall it enabling Autorun.
I also explained this procedure in this YouTube video, and in this post on the Japanese Ubuntu forum. I think iTunes 12.7 is a bit unstable on Ubuntu 16.04, but I made a videoof my test of iTunes12.7 32-bit and how to install for Japanese.

These recommendations seem over the top for such a small app, but iTunes is not the simple 18 MB installer of 2003. It has become a huge albatross over the years, turning into an app that does many things but none very well. Hopefully, if you have to use iTunes or prefer using it, these simple tips can get it working successfully on Windows 10.
Yes, this solution worked, I even deleted any file with reference to apple through explorer 3.62Gb of crap from previous installs and old logs etc. Well worth it, plugged in the iPad and it synced asap.
My goal in installing iTunes was to backup photos from my iPhone. iTunes did NOT work for this. It would not recognize my iPhone. A round of Googling led me to an article describing how to back up my iPhone photos with Windows Photos program, and THAT WORKED!! I should have STARTED there, and saved myself hours.

Hi all, I had the same issue but unfortunately none of the perfectly described tips worked. It always failed on what turned out to be the Apple updater function. I repaired it (really easy and quick) and tadaa! Itunes installation as admin worked like a charm. The info above however pointed me in the right direction.
