Cancelling Thursday then... back to the drawing board (or the doodle board)...
1. The next possible date with the most attendees (7 people so far) is Mon Sept 26 at 7pm (although jeet-kei cannot attend based on the doodle)
2. Sobey - you had mentioned at the last meeting that your place may be avail that night?
3. Otherwise, there don't seem to be any other dates prior to Oct.8 day long meeting where people's schedules are aligning...

Not sure if I made an error but I can't make Thursday as I and Suresh are involved with the Evolver Spore at W2 Media Cafe. Sorry if that was my error. The 8th of October should be ok though.

Thanks for an incredible meeting yesterday, i left feeling more inspired than ever, and encouraged at what we are about to do..
I spoke again with Farhad yesterday and he confirmed his intentions, and basically told me when we have our shit together, have chosen a piece of land, have a clear vision and timeline of what we want to build, he is willing to invest, and support/hire a crew of people working and developing it. And the basic tenant of money is that when one person puts forth their vote of confidence, IE their cash, others follow in droves.
I like what is coming through
A. A network of Shared Spaces in the city- I will make a PB works page to list these pages, please add ones you think would be interested in such a system.
I still like the idea of a 'Home Base'- our own public living room with cafe and amenities.. we should, in my opinion, still keep this in mind and develop it as a co-operative space. I can draw out some good, simple profit models to make it work in the eyes of any investor.
What spaces are we then looking for? What will we offer them? How will this co-operation work, in practicality? How will membership work during this process?
Work Space
Workshop Space
Living Space
Event Space
Cooking/Eating Space
Again, the only i have with this is the necessity to really make people feel like a 'family'- united in a common space that has a kitchen and a living room. I think eating and talking and connecting together is very important, so if there is an existing space which has these facilities and would be open to a co-operative 'takeover', then lets keep the eye out.
B.- The Story- I like Sobey's idea that each person should write, from the third person completion perspective, their version of the story. Sobey, please send us over your story so we can all read it. Before the next meeting, i would like to see everyone's version of this prepared, so we can take the common threads and elements, and figure out how to creatively and artistically express it. My brother will be there as well, and Akasha Arts has a talented crew who can help support this.
C- The Container- The idea of using the network of spaces within the city to build enough trust, connection and support for each other while we point outwards towards a land-based projects gives great context to it. We just need to determine the scope of such a project. Soon, hopefully at the end of this month, we will be a stage to bring the next ring of people on board to fill the roles that we have identified as necessary.
This is where Sobey's idea of the Skills Matrix is essential. I think a small sub-group, maybe even THX or outside our current group can really focus on this.
D- The Co-operative- When energy flows, it has to be contained in a structure, like water, which gives it shape and form. Energy is ready to flow in, our container need to be strong to handle the monetary capacity. My goal is to develop the one-map synopsis of the workings and details of the co-operatives before October 8th meeting. I would like a sub-commitee meeting on this possibly on October 6th? Jeet Kei, Suresh, Amir, Crystel and Greg
This will include the 'Adjuct Partner' class of the co-operative which deals with the participating spaces.
E- The Governance- These models are extremely important, some of the processes, mechanisms, and agreements- documented and worked with. How to viably work the 'Say According to Stake' principle, how to enact the tribal council systems, elders councils etc. Elijah has mapped alot of this out, Jeet-Kei has been working in participatory systems, mimi seems to have deep insight and experience in this process, so a working group needs to be developed specifically around this topic. I would like to see how we can pool the shared wisdom of current sustainable eco-villages like 'Our' 'Daman-hur' and others for this. There is someone i would highly recommend for this process, and it is John Andreas. He has spent alot of time with these communities and is right on the edge of our group.
F- The Strategy- How do these pieces fit together, what is our 1,3,5,10 year plan. Scope and Vision, even if we don't meet the exactly, is important. I think our stories should emcompass this, where we see ourselves 10 years from now, what are things looking like around us, how are we feeling, who is there, etc.
There are other things, but i feel these are the core ones.
Thanks for reading! Very inspired
Namaste and Heart-Mudra to you all :)
