I am trying to find better deals for all of us in the co op. I have contacted a few people and so far have a response from Raaw Energy in Adelphia NJ. I know a few people in NJ who buy meat from them and are happy with it. I need to let them know what we would be interested in and how much everyone would want to order if the prices are good enough. Below is the response from Raaw Energy. I didn't see the menu attached but you can go to their website to see it. We would have to be able to order 500 pounds to get a deal. It could be shipped to my house in Burlington NC

Thanks everyone

I'm not sure what your group usually gets
but I could make a special arrangement for you if you would like.
Would your group be interested in say
50 pound cases of chicken medley?
Or maybe Beef and Chicken with Tripe?
I could work out a deal cheaper then on the menu
if you take 10 boxes or more.

I will try to help you, please let me know.

Thanks so much for researching this and trying to find us deals. I won’t buy anything from this company because there is a local source here in Hillsborough for the ground I use – Blue Ridge Beef. I have just started using it, never even knew they were here. The puppy mix is chicken, beef, organs, bone, and tripe. Great stuff. Someone on the list mentioned Blue Ridge Beef, that is how I found out about it (perhaps it was you Elisa?). Anyway, I am thankful for that lead and impressed with the high quality + NO delivery fee! They don’t have a lot of exotic meat unless you buy it by the case but I use mainly deer for my variety. I’m almost out but deer season is right around the corner.

Trish - I've been using BRB for years ( used to get it at Whippet race meets from a supplier ) but I go to Brigitte in Hillsborough now also. I'm just trying to find a meat source that's less expensive. I don't know yet what kind of deal this company will give us. It seems that they wanted to know what kind of order we would put in before deciding on what % off they would give us.

Elisa,

I'm definitely interested in finding out more.  We often struggle to reach 1000 lbs with Hare Today because the discount is not enough to compensate for the time/gas to the drop off point.  We might have the same problem with Burlington (a 30 min drive for me).  But if the discount is large enough, I think we could easily reach 1000 lbs.

Can you contact Kitt based on orders of 500 lbs (the number she suggested) and 750 lbs (being conservative)?

Thanks for the hard work in finding this lead.  Excited to learn more.

Liz

Liz -  Do we order 1000 pounds from Hare Today? I thought it was $1,000.

I'm interested in more info as you get it. I've been buying from grocery stores as my budget allows. I live in Julian and have to drive to Pleasant Garden to get to Food Lion (closest store). Otherwise, I drive to Burlington or Greensboro. With 3 dogs and 3 cats and a limited income, I'm always looking for discounts.

It is $1,000 and that would be quite a bit more than 1,000 pounds. However, much of that order is not ground meat.
