Letter of Sponsorship
Dear Handball Players of North Carolina,
As a handball player, or someone who knows a handball player, you understand that handball draws the cream of the crop when it comes to athletes and also camaraderie, which results is more than the health benefits accompanied with playing. The Handball club at North Carolina State University was re-instituted in 2011 and has since grown from 2 student members and 11 faculty to 14 students and 11 faculty, with 7 students competing in this years National Collegiate Tournament. Not only will our players be competing in the tournament, but we are graciously hosting. NC State is the official venue of the 62nd annual National Collegiate Handball Tournament, and we are proud to be so, but we need your help!
On February 19th-23rd, at the Carmichael Gymnasium, our handball club will compete with and host over 250 student-athletes from across the country. We have 5 men and 2 women athletes competing in this years tournament in both singles and doubles events. Our club has hosted small tournaments before, and we thank you if you were a part of them, but this will be a far greater effort, and we need your support. The United States Handball Association (USHA) covers most major costs, and supplies people to work at the event.
However, we hope that you would consider supporting the club with a donation of time or money. The USHA will need volunteers at the beginning of the tournament to help register new USHA members, sell merchandise, and set-up the tournament. More volunteers may be needed throughout the tournament as well. Registration for the collegiate tournament is $60 per student for singles play, and $75 for doubles, as well as a $15 USHA membership fee. We will also be purchasing jerseys for the team.
If you choose to support our club with a monetary donation of $100 or more we will gratefully acknowledge your support by including your chosen name, logo, or words of encouragement on the backs of our jerseys. Donations of $60 or less will be acknowledged on our website (https://sites.google.com/site/trianglehandball/home), and thank you cards with a team photo with our results will be sent to all supporters after the tournament.
