Saw this on another list and thought that all three lists (robotics, arduino and NC Lego groups may find interesting - an addon board for the Raspberry Pi that turns it into a robotic controller for the Nxt and Mindstorm motors/sensors.

This is a kickstarter I am definitely interested in sponsoring... let me know if anyone else out there finds it interesting.

So for those of you who are Lego NXT users/owners, who have been lusting after the upcoming 3.0 kit, but hating the thought of having to shell out another $250+ mostly just to get the upgraded controller block, check out this:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/john-cole/brickpi-lego-bricks-with-a-raspberry-pi-brain?ref=live

Basically, it turns a Raspberry Pi into an NXT controller block, and it should be quite a bit more powerful than even the NXT 3.0 controller.

Programmable through Python (or possibly Scratch).

$45 gets you the full deal.

That's cool, Rodney. I'll back that. I already have the Arduino NXT shield, but haven't actually used it because I couldn't think of a worthy project. I don't imagine that'll be a problem once I have the greater power of the Pi.

Jeff :)
