My son's wife asked for a divorce, last November. He was the primary
provider for their two children (6 and 10 yo). My son hired Rosen Law
firm, while his wife hired a criminal lawyer. Needless to say, his
wife's lawyer had lots of tricks while my son's lawyer made feeble
attempts to negotiate. My son's lawyer encouraged my son to stay in the
home until a child custody schedule was arranged. My duaghter-in-laws
lawyer succeded in having my son evicted from the home on allegations
that did not stand up in court. My son, also had ot hire a criminal
lawyer, based on her false domestic violace charges. My son's lawyer,
Scott Allen, cancelled 4 scheduled visits that we had with him, all at
the last moment. It had been ~ 4 months since we met with him, the day
before the custody hearing. That day, my daughter-in-law was a hour
late for court, and her lawyer had to act like we were negotiating. A
50:50 schedule was reached, one day more than the temporary schedule.
Property distribuion is pending. My son has paid $9000 to Rosen Law
Firm so far.
Yesterday my son recieved at my address (not his home) a letter from
Rosen Law Firm, stating that there is a scheduled hearing for Rosen to
drop his case. After several phone calls today my son was told that he
failed to follow-up on an e-mail. Mr. Allen never communicated with my
son via e-mail prior to this. His note, dated 10/4/06 says:

Marc,
Do you have a copy of the legal services contract you signed when you
converted from non-litigation to litigation? We do not have a copy.
If we can't find a copy, we will need a new contract before we proceed
forward with the property distribution.
Sincerely yours,
Scott E. Allen, Attorney

My son needs a new lawyer, preferrably a criminal lawyer this time, to
match the skills of my daughter-in-laws lawyer. Does he also need a
lawyer to sue his lawyer?
My grandchildren have adjusted well, and I remain in awe of my sons
committment ot being an A+ parent.
Ideas? Suggestions?
