I was more than a bit surprised to find the darned thing works pretty
well. I'm still clumsy as heck even with my nice Bencher paddles,
though, so I haven't tried it on the air yet.

You're sure it's not the "Spark Gap Operators" club? ;-)

Then why is it so hard to get a QSL from you, Mudge? ;-)

BTW, twice now I have thought I worked the 7O6T group in Yemen, and
twice I've NOT shown up in their online log. :-( If I don't get
them before they pack up and go home, I'm gonna give up radio and try
beekeeping or something. :-(

That d0de with his father-in-law's moldy TS-520 and Argonaut has
dropped his asking price to $3500 (if anybody else is interested, this
is on the Raleigh NC "Craigslist" under electronics) ... he warns that
the price is FIRM, and he's had the gear appraised--presumably by
elves or leprechauns. :-)

I worked the Yemen group on 17m CW last night; sure hope I'm in the
log THIS time.

I was just joking about beekeeping, Mudge. I'm getting old and my
eyes aren't as sharp as they used to be. I'd never be able to mark my
bees, even if I *could* make a branding iron small enough.
