The .airappinstall.log file can reveal the specific issue. The Adobe AIR application installer could've found an instance of Adobe AIR or the Adobe AIR application on a mounted drive other than main drive. Time Machine (10.5.x) could have a backup of the application. Unmount drives other than main drive and retry installation.
NOTE: Currently, due to a compatibility issue between Adobe Air and OS X 10.5.8 Leopard, the MindWave Mobile software installation will not be able to complete. We are working towards a solution for Adobe Air for 10.5.8, please stay tuned. In the meantime, you could try updating to OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard or 10.7 Lion.

CS5 was released in 2010. CS4 was released in 2008. It's unlikely it will run correctly on your 2016 MacBook Air, and if it doesn't you will be on your own, because it has long since reached end of life. The Scratch 2.0 Offline Editor can be downloaded at scratch:download/scratch2.[note 2] For macOS 10.10 and later or Windows 7 and later, the latest version of Adobe AIR may be downloaded here. For Linux and older operating systems, the AIR 2.6 runtime may be downloaded here. In the latter case, you must download the "Mac OS 10.5 & Older" version of Scratch.
Ultimately, Spotify will cease to be supported on 10.5, but not just yet. As an example, We had to "deprecate" Mac OS X 10.4 in a similar way this time last year, but the unupdated application should still work on those systems.
I'm on OSX 10.5.8 and I've followed all the advice on these forums over 10 times. Uninstall reinstall uninstall reinstall over and over. Delete cache files ect over and over. Down load the old version over and over. Restart over and over. Nothing nada zip.
