TFDA's Spring Core Ultimate League is back and registration is now open.

http://www.tfda.org/leagues/2012+tfda+spring+core+league/information

Registration will close on 2/26 which is just over a week away. Sign
up now! There is room for up to 120 players (112 males) so don't wait
or it just probably might fill up!

When: Games start on March 3rd and run through the end of April with a
tournament on April 28/29th.

Where: 2 Divisions - East and West. East will be playing at Fletcher
Park in Raleigh. West is going to be at either Lowes Grove or Bethesda
(to be finalized any minute now). Choose your division or be nice &
let us do it for you (to help balance numbers).

This league builds teams based on a core of players. But you DO NOT
have to be in a core to play! A core is a group of 6 players (4 male &
2 female) whose point value totals 24 or less (18 or less for the
males). Points are assigned by experience level (see immediately
below).

CORE POINTS DETAILS:
Each core can have up to a total of 24 experience points spread
between 4 men and 2 women.  You can have less than 24. The men's total
cannot be higher than 18 (but it can be anything lower). If you're
familiar with Thuy's coed savage tournament point system, there are a
few changes here to her version. It only goes back 2 fall seasons, not
3. The age adjustment for women has been lowered, but the age
deductions do not apply to 6-point men or women. Junior
worlds/nationals and non-US worlds/nationals count for something.

When we do the draft, the core with the lowest male point total will
go first. In the case of a tie, the core that is least top heavy will
go first, meaning a 6 5 3 1 core will draft before a 6 6 2 1 core. We
will then follow the same rules for women, based on each core's female
point totals. (Hint: to earn a good draft position, cores may want to
consider not maxing out their experience points!) Also, as happened
last year, we may switch to a non-gender specific draft, which means
draft order will be determined by your entire core together.

Point values for individual players are determined by highest
experience during the last TWO years (2010-2011) and are as follows:

6 points: Open or Women's Club Nationals
5 points: Mixed or Masters Club Nationals - College Nationals - Open
or Women's Club Regionals - Worlds or Non-US Nationals
4 points: Mixed or Masters Club Regionals - College Regionals - Open
or Women's Club Sectionals (unless you played on an only college team,
this exception applies only at the sectional level)
3 points: Mixed Sectionals - College Sectionals - Junior Worlds or Nationals
2 points: Tournaments - TFDA League - Corporate League
1 point: pickup games - never played before (everyone is worth at
least a point).

Any player under 18 years of age, or any male having reached age 42,
or any woman having reached age 38 may subtract 1 from his/her point
assessment. Anyone having reached age 50 may subtract 2 points. But
still, everyone is worth at least 1 point!

Got a core? Put that in the notes when you register or send an email
to tfda-spring-co...@tfda.usetopscore.com and let us know.

Go ahead and register NOW!

See you at the fields!
