1. Next meeting Sunday March 6

The next meeting of the Triangle Committee to Stop FBI Repression is Sunday March 6 at 6:00pm. We'll be meeting at the Durham Solidarity Center, 331 W. Main St. in Durham. Please call 919-360-6367 if you can't get in the building, and RSVP to ncst...@gmail.com.

2. Successful regional conference to Stop FBI Repression held in Chapel Hill

We held a very successful conference at the UNC School of Law. We had over 100 participants, representing North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Tennessee, and Alabama, with guest speakers from Chicago and Minneapolis.  The conference helped place the recent repression within the context of decades of attacks by the FBI on social justice and civil rights movements, as well as the more recent attacks on Muslim and Arab Americans since 9/11.  The conference solidified the solidarity among activists in the South working on these issues, and between the anti-war movement and the Muslim community.  

As organizers of the conference, we are especially grateful for all of the hard work by all of amazing 38 co-sponsors who not only attended the conference, but volunteered to staff the conference, publicized the conference, and made financial contributions.  This important conference would not have been possible without all of their work and support.

3. National call in day Tuesday March 8

The FBI is still harassing anti-war activists and the grand jury continues. Please join a national call-in day on Tuesday March 8 to U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald, Attorney General Eric Holder, and President Barack Obama. We typically have hundreds of people call in; they feel the pressures, so it is very important to take 5 minutes to do this.

Glenn Beck on his March 3 show attacked the Committee to Stop FBI Repression and several of the 23 targeted activists. This is likely to be the beginning of a number of right-wing attacks against the CSFR and the activists already targeted by the FBI and grand jury repression.
