Hello Nole Fans!
I hope those that showed up today had a great time - it was wonderful seeing both old and new faces. This was probably the best weather we've had in a quite a few years. I meant to make an announcement, but it slipped my mind - yes there was no pinata this year. That was due to the fact Lake Crabtree explicitly prohibits them in our contract - along with balloons and private signs.
As everyone is probably well aware, FSU's first game is this Saturday against Murray St. We'll all be gathering at Sparians in Raleigh (http://www.sparians.com/raleigh/). The game will be on ESPN3, which is only available through specific cable providers. Sparians has already tested their connection and have been successful in streaming the game through their "TV Matrix" to give us the best view and sound possible. Another nice feature is we'll be able to play the fight song and warchant for all to enjoy. We'll also have raffle prizes at half time. Game time is set for 6PM, so be sure to get out there a little early and get your seat. This is a family friendly restaurant with plenty to keep the kids busy (video games, and if you get there early enough, you can try to get one of the 6 touch screen tables!). Sparians will also have the restaurant decorated with FSU paraphernalia so folks will know this is our new game watching area.
Finally, as I mentioned at the picnic, our website is now up to date for BBQ plates. The food will be provided by Smokey's BBQ Shack - http://www.smokeysshack.com/. The plates are $10 each and include pulled pork, 2 sides and a drink. You can purchase them here - http://www.triangleseminoles.com/online-store/. As soon as we hear the gametime, we'll be sure to let everyone know. Please get your orders in ASAP so we can keep Smokey's up to date with the number of plates required.
