Seminole Club Updates...

Greeting Seminole Fans!

I just wanted to give everyone a few quick updates.

First, we will no longer be accepting dues starting this year.  We have been incorporated into the FSU Alumni Association's "Operation Club".  The change has been a process set forth by President Barron, FSU, the Alumni Association and Seminole Boosters to engage and support the clubs.  In place of paying dues, we do ask that you join the FSU Alumni Association and/or Seminole Boosters.  We will still accept donations to our scholarships and will continue to raise funds for the club through our raffles during game watching parties and the annual kick-off picnic.  For more information on "Operation Club", please see the following - http://one.fsu.edu/community/page.aspx?pid=3757.  We're very excited for the changes.

One of the asks from "Operation Club" is that all clubs participate in a "Seminole Service Day".  This year, "Seminole Service Day" will be March 23.  This is a day that ALL Seminole Clubs across the nation will participate in a community service project in their area.  As a board we have come up with a few ideas, but would like to hear from  you as well.  If you actively participate in a service group and would like additional help, please let us know.  Also, if you would like to participate, keep an eye out, we'd like to have something locked up in the next few weeks.  This is open to all members of the club, and we'd like to have a good showing!

I'd like to also put out a call for folks that would like to join in on the planning of events for the club by joining our leadership team.  If you'd like to get involved, please let me know and we can discuss further.  This would help arranging tailgates, game watching parties and the kick-off picnic.

With that note, we'd also like to congratulate, thank, and send-off our former President, Jim Bloomfield.  Jim has been a part of the club for many years and was the President prior to me.  He's recently accepted a new position and will be relocating to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.  Jim, thank you for all that you've done over the years - you will be missed!
