So, we've probably done this before, but I can't find an official list to give my sister (who may be helping with food at some games).

If everyone could please send their dietary restrictions so I have a comprehensive list. I want to make sure we don't leave anyone out.

You can send them to me privately at skii....@gmail.com, if you prefer.

If you know of someone with restrictions who doesn't have internet access, I'd also appreciate your input.

Thank you, thank you.

If I'm not on the list under "Vegetarian", I will have to point and laugh.  It's in The Rules.  ;)

I just need to know if a dish has peanuts in it, so that I can avoid it :)

As someone else who will on occasion be cooking for the game, a request...

Please keep your requests to actual allergies and food restrictions, not preferences.
It can be tricky to come up with recipes that avoid allergens for everyone and create a vegetarian meal at the same time, but to try to accommodate "well I just really don't like XXXX" for up to thirty people can make things unreasonable.

If you are a picky eater, it isn't a bad idea to bring food of your own in case you don't like the offered menu.

What's the difference between cooking food preference and cooking vegen? Not that I'm knocking Someone who chooses to eat a vegetarian diet. But in a lot if cases, that's a choice.

Some people don't eat certain foods for many reasons. While not allergic to some things, I can give you a list of things that will flip my stomach (cause nausea) or cause a gag reflex.

This is why more often than not, I choose not to eat what is generally cooked on the field when I'm there.

Vegetarian is a broad enough category that it can be accommodated.  Currently we do not have any Vegans in the game, but if someone who was Vegan came it would be up to the chef whether or not to accommodate their needs.  Same thing if someone who kept strict Kosher came to game.  And in my experience (from both gaming circles and friends/family away from games) anyone who is Vegan, Kosher, or some other super-restrictive dietary need/choice comes to an event they tend to feed themselves because they acknowledge it is their own personal choice and not something others have assigned to them.

It is one thing to ask me not to use an ingredient because it could cause a genuine health/safety incident, it is another to say "well I don't like that flavor."  Dave, your choice not to eat the stuff made because it doesn't meet your tastes is a great way to handle it.

All that said, those who have done the cooking to date have done a pretty good job of accommodating the vegetarians in the game (of which we have several), as well as avoiding gluten where possible.  It hasn't been a problem to date, really.

Kasi is vegetarian with gluten and dairy intolerance.  That said, she often will take pills to help with dairy and eat some amount of food made with butter, however, gluten causes here migraines and she definitely needs to avoid it.

And again, I'm posting my opinions as someone who has in the past (and likely in the future will) cook/ed either dinner or breakfast.  Nothing official, just my preferences/experience/opinion for when I'm chef.  I've always accommodated the vegetarians and the gluten free needs.

I think anyone can post whatever they want, but we have to all understand that the cook will have to balance need vs. convenience. Obviously allergies and medical conditions get higher priority. Preferences get less priority. Whiny complaints clogging up the email threads get very little priority, if any.

significant tomato allergy, trace sensitive.
i always have benadryl on me, just in case
because it is trace reactive, (beef stock is enough to set off a reaction)
i also tend to bring food with me, just in case, so that i don't have to leave to get something i can eat

Can we make a list of in stuff in all food products so the players can choose to eat it if they want.

Yeah, we always try to let people know if there're something in the food they can't eat, I just wanted a more comprehensive list to work with.  For instance, I frequently forget that Marce can't eat tomatoes.

I also know that Shawna was going to be gluten-free for a while, but wasn't sure if it was indefinitely.  (If someone could tag her to find out, that would actually be great.)
