to Triad Ride List
Some of you know that I am involved with the  Greensboro Community Bike Shop.  The City has provided us a wonderful space at Barber Park for the last 4 years.  We accept donated bicycles form hundreds of people and local bike shops year round, and then we strip, repair or recycle the bicycles so that we can give away as many bicycles as possible to worthy recipients. Last year we gave away about 450 bicycles and we helped build many new bicycles that the Salvation Army gave away as Angel Tree Gifts last December.

We have rented a wonderful location to start a new chapter of the Greensboro Community Bike Shop; 720 West Market Street.  We are directly across the street from the New Metal Robot Art Installation where the Downtown Greenway crosses Market Street.  Just east of Greensboro College.

We would love for you to stop by to see our new location and, possibly, help us paint the interior walls.  The painting will be easy as my friends and I covered all the floors with RAM board and have covered the trim with wide painters' tape.

I will be at the shop on Saturday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.  Many of the Board Member and other volunteers will be at the shop on Sunday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The official Paint Party is Sunday, but feel free to stop by and help Saturday afternoon.

Please let me know when you are stopping by and if you want to paint.  I want to make sure we have enough supplies for everyone.

We will provide drinks and, maybe, even some donuts on Sunday.

Please bring a smile and a willingness to work.  All primer and paint is water based for easy clean up!

Best place to park is 814 West Market Street.  Hopefully many of you will ride your bikes to the shop this weekend.  We are shooting for an opening date of sometime in June.

If you have any questions, please reply to this email or send me a text.
