Save the date for Sunday the 26th of May for a 30ish mile route into Rockingham County with as much gravel roads I can link up into a relatively decent route. My intent is for all riders interested, or currently riding gravel to meet up and get to know others in the area. Even riders who are interested in this are welcome. I have personally ridden all of these roads with both a road bike running 700X25 (you take it slowly) and with my current 700X40. All speed and experience levels are welcome.I'll even have shortcuts and re-routes listed when I finalized the route on ridewithgps.
The ride will start and finish at the Lowe's Foods at the intersection of North Church St and Hwy 150 (Park away from the buildings) and will head straight north into Rockingham County. I am working on trying to get a tent set up next to the building for post ride and there is a beer garden and coffee bar inside the Lowe's. I would hope that riders would hang out and meet others post ride.
Please, if you're interested in joining this ride or have questions, contact me directly. I would like to be able to give the Manager at the Lowe's an idea of how many riders might show.
Thank you all, Woodie Anderson, Manager Cycles de Oro
