As part of National Bike Month, everyone is invited to join us for a community bike ride with City of Greensboro staff, particularly from the transportation department - at least 15 city staff have already agreed to participate including the GDOT director - and all the advocacy organizations will be there too.
The event is on
Tuesday morning starting at 8 am from the
front of Melvin Municipal Office Building (Greensboro City Hall), 300 W. Washington St, 27401. Our route, https://ridewithgps.com/routes/55107117, is 4.2 miles long and highlights several city improvements as well as certain controversial intersections and network gaps. The pace is expected to be around 7-9 mph with frequent stops (particularly on hills). If you've ever wanted to meet the people who design and implement city bike facilities as well as city roadways, this ride is a rare opportunity to interact with the city staff who do it all, including the engineers.
Helmets are required. We will be riding on city streets. A police escort is not expected.
