Maurice Schwartz

Many of you may have known Maurice Schwartz- a long time cyclist in our community and advocate. He was involved in Tour de Tanglewood for many years (organizing a team for First Presbyterian). 

He passed away this weekend. services will be at the facility he was living at.

Oh no... We lose another wonderful benefactor in our cycling community. 

I will always remember (among other things) Maurice spending so much time repairing bikes at the Interactive Resource Center, those to be given to under privileged. 

A really special and brilliant man who will be missed.

I'll remember Maurice Schwartz talking about his bike tours in Italy and his interesting collection of Campy mountain bike parts. He would sometimes help fix bikes for the Greensboro Community Bike Shop. David Hampsten
