| At Piedmont Bike, rider safety is a primary focus. We feel strongly that no one should ride (or run) without readily accessible identification. In case of a catastrophic injury, it allows First Responders to identify the victim as well as special medical needs. At Piedmont Bike, we have witnessed group rides where a rider became unconscious, and no one in the group knew how (or where) to contact the rider's family or loved ones, nor did anyone know any of the rider's medical history. That is an awful experience for both the injured rider (or runner) as well as for those trying to help the injured athlete. Some riders utilize RoadID tags, but we are not enamored with RoadID's high cost. So, we decided to do something about that as a way to help Piedmont Triad cyclists. Piedmont Bike now offers fully customized laser engraved aluminum tags at a cost well below that of RoadID. These are the same In Case of Emergency tags (known as ICE tags) that were on display at Saturday's Suds Ride from Keeley Park. For cyclists that want more than one tag, even more savings are available, with the price for two tags being $25.00, and the price for three tags being $32.00. Tags can be ordered using the order form at https://piedmont.bike/tags . | ![]() |
![]() | Your tag's wording is completely up to you! Simply place the desired text into the order form entry fields. You may have up to six (6) lines of text, and up to twenty (20) characters per line. The tags are laser etched and virtually indestructible. Made of aluminum, they are lightweight, will not interfere with heart rate monitor chest straps, and will not rust. Each tag comes with a bead chain that allows wearing around the neck. Wearing an ID/ICE tag can save a life, and save precious time making certain that your loved ones or family are notified should you ever become injured.
