Nicole Lindahl memorial bike ride - early planning stages

Several of us in the Greensboro bicycle community are working on a memorial community bike ride in honor of Nicole Lindahl, the Bicycling In Greensboro staff Project Coordinator, who passed away this evening after a sudden and massive heart attack on Tuesday. We all already miss her immensely.

The family memorial service date has yet to be announced, but it will be at Fellowship Presbyterian Church, 2005 New Garden Rd, Greensboro, NC 27410, not far from the Trek shop and the A&Y Greenway.

Nicole was extremely well-known and well-liked within the community, so we expect event attendance from her family, every bicycle organization (including BIG, PFTS, and GCBS), bike shop, and cycling club as well as public officials, agency staff (particularly from GDOT), the Greensboro police department, at least one city councilor, and many individuals, 100-300 riders including a likely police escort.

Obviously we would prefer to do our ride when the weather is sunny and mild, but this is North Carolina so we need to be realistic. We are looking for short (5-10 mile) routes from the church location, preferably with an even shorter (1 mile or so) loop for public officials who might not have been on a bike for quite some time. We don't know the date yet, not even the day of the week, probably in a couple weeks. Let me know if you want to help organize this ride and any suggestions y'all might have.
