, we've seen our share of bicycle crashes caused by potholes and damaged road shoulders. Some of those crashes included injuries and lots of bike damage.
Over 80% of the roads in North Carolina are state maintained. The NCDOT is very responsive at repairing potholes, repairing damaged road shoulders, and repairing damaged guardrails, but they need to be told about them so they can respond.
That said, Piedmont Bike has just added information to our website explaining how to easily report potholes, damaged shoulders, and damaged guardrails to NCDOT by filling in short and simple forms.
Both
Piedmont Bike and NCDOT's forms are
mobile device friendly, so if it's safe to stop, you can easily find the links from our website and report them on-the-spot while riding. You can find them under the
RESOURCES main menu item at
https://piedmont.bike . We've included a screen capture below that shows the location of the newly added menu items.
