Not sure how many of you know this but we live about 25 minutes away from the best BMX facility in North Carolina. BMX is a perfect way to get kids racing bikes in the kind of bar-to-bar style that MTB doesn't really offer. It also fosters a mastery of bike handling, which translates into every other style of riding.
Fun part is, it's not just for kids. I've been racing alongside my two kiddos for the last year or so. There are as many (if not more) grown ups at the Friday night races than there are children.
See below about the open house/try the track events. They have everything you need there. Just need to show up in long sleeves, pants, and close-toed sneakers.

Looking for a new (almost) year-round sport? Come out to Burlington BMX this Sunday or the following Thursdays for a FREE BMX Open House! Riders/Guardians must complete this free trial membership form beforehand.
We do have loaner bikes and helmets available, but please come dressed in long sleeves/pants/close-toed shoes.
