This is a really long email/post. What started last Saturday as my desire to ride on Labor Day may have turned into a pretty big ride. Everyone is welcome to come ride solo or in any group you want. Feel free to bring a friend or your own group. Please park in the dirt lot at 826 West Gate City Blvd. Park close to other cars. if this lot fills up, then we will use the paved lot at Oden.
Please forward this email or repost this in your respective groups.
I want to extend a special thank you to Ray Gales and Les McCaskill. It seems most people leading rides in the Greensboro area were directly or indirectly influenced by the two of you.
Thanks to all the cyclist who openly post their rides, and encourage people to ride with them: John Erickson, Mary and Rick Hughes, Woodie Andersen, Phil Kusiak, Carl Fenske, and Tom Nolls. I also want to thank the individuals and groups that have warmly welcomed and encouraged riders that I have sent to their rides: Suzanne Pezick and Matt Oechsli, Cathy Thompson, Gary Law, Team Perpetual Motion, Kernersville Cycling Club, Mayhem, Major Taylor, Cyclepaths, and the Easy Rider Group.
Ride will start from Oden Brewing Company. This is not the ideal location for easy access to open roads, but Oden is the only brewery in Greensboro that was willing to open early on Monday for us at 12:00 noon, so please stick around and socialize after the ride. Feel free to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks. There may be a food truck as well.
Below are the routes and a list of people who are safe cyclists and plan to lead rides at the pace posted next to their names. Each group leader may have a few words to say to you before the ride. My advice for during your rides: please look as far down the road as possible (not at the road directly in front of the bike), always face forward (not at the person riding next to you), and keep both hands on the bars as much as you possibly can.
The 43 and 63 mile routes include seeing the Donald Duck Barn on your left at 19 miles, the Mickey Mouse Barn on your right at 19.5 miles and a store stop at 24.7 miles.

2nd Store Stop Opportunities at 37.3 miles. This route includes Gwyn Road and Shak's convenience store. Both are favorites of local cyclists.

If anyone wants to lead a group at a different pace, please let me know.
