Any thoughts on Carolina Birth Center?

I don't know if any of you had your child at the Carolina Birth
Center, but tragically they are no longer doing births at their
facility OR at High Point hospital. Apparently insurance and costs
were just too high, and having had my child there I know what a
tragedy this is!

I'm worried about what we will do should I become pregnant again. I
know of a midwife, and I know about the birth center in Chapel Hill,
but that's just too far. And, although homebirth is an option, the
birth center was a irreplaceable resource!

How do you all feel about this? Can anyone comiserate? Offer hope/
suggestions?

Man, that stinks!! It seems like there would be one closer to
greensboro by now, hop on the bandwagon people!! Well, I had hailey
at ARMC in burlington and was delivered by a midwife 100% au
natural...so it can be done!! I definately recommend the birthplace
at ARMC as an alternative...closer than chapel hill, and IMO from what
I've heard less scarey than women's hospital...
