hi all,
We are ordering hardware for Trex currently proposing X710 nics. I see in the hardware recommendations section there is a note that this nic REQUIRES Intel SFP+...
"Intel X710 NIC (example: FH X710DA4FHBLK) operates *only* with Intel SFP+."

Just checking that this is still a requirement and if so anyone confirm the part no. for this SFP?
Thanks, Graeme

From out experience you would be able to use Cisco AOC optics but not Cisco SR/LC optic.
There are probably others manufacturers of optic that compatible with Intel.

Thanks,
Hanoh

You have to use Intel recommended SFP+, as DPDK ixgbe driver is compatible with that SFP only. From my experience I can say that, SFP not being recognized by ixgbe driver and to allow that I think some flag is there in driver, but I have not checked that.
