Hi All,

I'm using TREX for the first time and I can only get one port to show on my stateless GUI when connecting to trex, despite using both eth0 and eth1. I've tried things like editing the trex_cfg.yaml file as per https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/s/question/0D53i00000U2p7sCAB/using-the-trex-stateless-gui-with-the-trex-node-in-cmlp-2 but i'm still not having any luck. Is there anything else I need to change on the trex host itself to get both ports to show in the GUI?

Please let me know what outputs would be useful and the commands needed to get them!

Best Regards,
George

Hi George, please post the output of dpdk_setup_ports.py script run on the TRex machine.
Thanks,

Hi There,

I can't seem to run that command? Do I need to be cd'd into a certain directory to do it?

The version of TRex is 2.82 and currently its running inside CML, without external connectivity but I can implement that if its needed to run the command.

(Apologies in advance for my lack of understanding of the system)

Thanks,
George

Strange, you should have it there. Where did you take the image from?
Thanks

Hi,

I believe it is just the TRex image that is deployed with Cisco Modeling Labs. The version of Modelling Labs is 2.1.1-b19, and it is run on a dedicated server at my University.

Thanks,
George

I am afraid we can't help you with this. The image might be altered.
Consider using the official image.

Hi,

I've confirmed with the engineers who implemented CML that the images were not altered and came as default with CML. Are there any other commands which may be useful for the resolution of this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
George

Hi George,
We are not the team that represents the CML, we are the team that represents the TRex core. We provide a core image and this image is integrated by other people in products, such as CML.
We have tutorials on how to install TRex on bare metal linux, maybe it will help you with something https://trex-tgn.cisco.com/trex/doc/trex_manual.html#_download_and_installation
Thanks,
Bes
