Hi Team,

I am using Intel NIC Eth E810-XXVDA2 to test TRex. I am trying to generate 10 Gbps of traffic using Stateful mode.
The command I use is

sudo ./t-rex-64 -f cap2/http_simple.yaml -c 1 -m 10 -d 1000

As you can see from the image below. TX can reach to 10.21 Gbps and no drop happens for TX. However, there are a lot of packet drops for RX. RX is 796 Mbps. The drop rate is 9.42 Gbps.

Why does RX have this packet drop issue?
Is it simply because TRex does not support Intel NIC Eth E810?
For Intel NIC Eth E810, are there any ways to resolve this issue?

Thanks,

Xun Wang

Hi Hanoch,

Thanks for you reply!

Could you give me more details about what the issues are?
Is Intel NIC Eth E810-XXVDA2 compatible with DPDK?

Thanks,

Xun Wang

TRex server requires some baseline features to start to work in hardware mode.
Flow-for Hardware rules to drop/forward base on some fields. This feature for example does not work correctly.

Once the basic features will work we could run regression to verify all trex features are supported. It wasn’t done yet do we can’t say what is supported and what is not

Thanks
