what ports need to be open to run trex-console?

Hello,

I have configured trex for testing on VM, version CentOS Core 7

but I cannot get the trex-console to come up:

[root@ciscotrex1 scripts]# ./trex-console

Using 'python' as Python interpeter

Log:
*** [RPC] - Failed to get server response from tcp://localhost:4501

I see this is a common occurrence for many. I see ZMQ is the messaging service used by RPC model from https://trex-tgn.cisco.com/trex/doc/trex_rpc_server_spec.html

So what is the fix to this issue? open the port for zmq?...Please advice. thank you

I'll answer my own question and direct anyone who has the issue to got here:

No need to be so passive-aggressive. It's hard from your original description to deduce that you have not started the server before trying to open the console :P
