Good morning,

My goal is to simulate a network with several sites (each site has its own vlan) connected to a single network of servers.
site A: 192.168.10.0/24 (vlan 10)
site B: 192.168.20.0/24 (vlan 20)
servers: 192.168.30.0/24 (vlan 30)

To do so I used TRex advanced stateful features creating a VIF, GW such as: Screenshot 2021-10-28 at 10.54.50.png

Trex is connected to a DUT that is a firewall that allows all the traffic and has the stacti routes to ensure that routing is done correctly. The clients (sites) on both vlan send traffic to the DUT but there is no ARP resolution on port1. I believe this comes from the fact that we are not allowed to provide a gateway for the topology file. The documentation says that servers will learn the route back to the client using the traffic they receives but since there is no resolution arp how is that supposed to happen ?

Thank you?

Usually we are using the trex IP of the server side as next hop and not in the same network of the DUT.  If you need that the trex servers ip would be on the same network as your DUT you could create a network of EMU clients (servers in this case).

Thanks

Thank you for the prompt answer Hanoh,

The documentation provides this topology configuration:

but doesn't indicate where to find it within the TRex. Do you know the directory path to find the list of the different configuration available for advanced stateful testing ? For example there could be a topology for a network of N clients to 1 server.

Thank you,
Maik
